About Team


The Marketplace Fulfilment Platform (MFP) team consists of Swiggy?s Core Logistics/Delivery, driver experience and CRM stacks. The charter of this team is to build a multi-tenant delivery platform that can seamlessly onboard multiple different businesses. The platform would need to maximise fleet efficiency across the various businesses. Additionally, the platform would allow third party Driver firms to onboard, while maintaining capacity across the various fleets, determine pSLA promises and assignment across various multi-modal fleets and support pluggable inclusion and exclusion rules to allow matching of orders to drivers.


The team is responsible for creating multi-objective functions that optimise the efficiency of the fleet while providing a delightful Delivery experience for both the Customer and our Driver Partners, Demand supply matching using forecasting models at a hyperlocal level across 500+ cities and multiple business lines, optimising on the sourcing strategy for hiring Driver Partners, seamless self service onboarding, training and tiering of our Driver Partners. The platform is also responsible for supporting multiple different Payout and Incentive constructs, including dynamic surges to mobilise driver partners in case of near term supply shortages, automated interventions to recover an order that may be getting delayed, and leveraging NLP to address customer queries in our chatbot.


What You?ll Be Doing

Engineering Manager at Swiggy will work closely with the Product Management, Business, Development, Design and Operations team, enabling them by providing scalable and high-quality technology solutions at a rapid pace. They co-own the technology vision of the respective team and significantly contribute to the overall success of the team

Create clear career paths for team members and help them grow

Architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solution

Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time


What we look For

We are looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, hands-on Engineering Manager to join the Bangalore Swiggy Engineering team

8-12 years of experience in developing products with 1+ years in leading a team of 5+

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of application and front-end / Back-end engineers to drive innovation in full-stack product development, while relentlessly improving performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Technically Hands-on, prior experience with scalable Architecture managing team of (5-10)

Coaching, mentoring managers and Architects in the team. Good team management skills with ability to multitask, strong problem solving and analytical skills

Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers

Experience with web technologies, Java/Golang, MySQL, solr, NoSql, redis, react, Python, Linux, AWS etc.

Experience with high performance websites catering to millions of daily traffic is a plus with an ability to bring in software engineering life cycle best practices
